Blue Energy Motors, the green fuel truck manufacturer, has crossed another significant milestone with the rollout and sales of its 500th truck from its smart manufacturing facility in Pune. This is a major step towards sustainability, as each BEM LNG truck emits fewer greenhouse gases compared to diesel-powered trucks. With Blue Energy Motors ramping up production, the heavy-duty trucking industry now has an economically viable option to immediately decarbonize the sector and contribute positively to climate change.
The rollout celebration was conducted in Pune at the Chakan facility, in the presence of Mr. Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, and the senior leadership team.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Bhuwalka said, “We are immensely proud to celebrate this milestone of roll out and invoicing of our 500th LNG truck. This achievement reflects our commitment to sustainable transportation and innovation while paving way for the decarbonization of the trucking sector. Our dedicated team and valued customers, including Fortune 500 Indian conglomerates in core sector industries as Cement, Steel etc., have been integral to this success. We look forward to driving further advancements in clean energy solutions in for the future.”
With this milestone, the fleet of Blue Energy Motors LNG trucks has already covered over 20 million kilometres, leading to a significant reduction of emission of over 5000 tonnes of CO2.
The BE 5528+ tractor was introduced in the market as the first model in September 2022, marking the beginning of Blue Energy Motors’ entry into the LNG-fuelled truck industry. Since its introduction, the BE 5528+ has successfully lowered the logistics carbon footprints of the cement and steel sectors. The truck uses FPT multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine technology and delivers best-in-class TCO and quieter operation compared to conventional fuel-powered trucks. With 280 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque, it is one of the most powerful liquified natural gas truck available in the Indian market. The truck features the industry’s first 990L fuel tank, providing a range of up to 1400 kilometres on a single fill, ensuring adequate coverage across important routes as the LNG dispensing network expands. The spacious driver cab of the BE 5528+, equipped with an air-suspended seat and automatic climate control, offers a refreshing environment for the driver, making long hauls a comfortable drive. The truck parameters are continuously monitored with state-of-the-art AI and ML-enabled proprietary telematics to ensure class-leading productivity, supported by BEM’s own network touchpoints.
With a 10,000-truck installed capacity, which can be expanded further as the market develops and demand increases, Blue Energy Motors has established itself as a market disruptor in the clean energy heavy-duty trucking space.
