Gurudwara Sahib Turns into Lifesaving Center: CPR Workshop Empowers 40+ FamiliesGurudwara Sahib Turns into Lifesaving Center: CPR Workshop Empowers 40+ Families

In a commendable display of community spirit and commitment to public health, the Guru Nanak Satsang Darbar Trust, in collaboration with the Sabka Doctor Foundation, conducted a hands-on CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) awareness and training session at the Satsang Guru Nanak Darbar Sahib Gurudwara in Lajpat Nagar. The workshop was held from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 40 families, including men, women, and youth from the local area. Participants learned critical CPR techniques aimed at saving lives during cardiac emergencies. The training was led by a team of AHA-certified instructors from the Sabka Doctor Foundation, who not only demonstrated practical CPR methods but also used real-life emergency simulations to provide hands-on learning.

Dr. Harmeet Singh, senior member of Sabka Doctor Foundation, emphasized the urgency of early intervention in heart attack cases, stating, “The first 4 to 7 minutes are crucial during cardiac arrest. Timely CPR can triple the chances of survival. By equipping ordinary citizens with this lifesaving skill, we are transforming passive bystanders into active responders.”

Dr. Raju Gupta, pediatrician and advisor to the foundation, added, “Hosting a CPR training in the Gurudwara is more than a medical initiative—it’s an act of ‘sewa’ (selfless service). It’s our collective duty to educate the community and prepare them to act effectively in emergencies.”

Mr. Charanjeet Singh, President of the Satsang Guru Nanak Darbar Trust, remarked, “A Gurudwara is not just a place of worship—it’s also a space for learning, healing, and community service. We are committed to organizing more such socially responsible programs. Saving a life is the highest form of service, and we stand ready to do our part.”

Mr. S.B. Singh, Trustee of the Trust and RWA President of Lajpat Nagar-III, applauded the initiative, stating, “Even a single trained individual in a neighborhood can make a lifesaving difference. I urge every resident to participate in such campaigns. Ideally, every family should have at least one member trained in CPR.”

Participants left the session deeply impacted. One such participant, Gurmohit Singh, shared, “This session was eye-opening, informative, and engaging. We often assume medical emergencies are for doctors to handle, but today I learned that any of us can make a real difference during those critical ‘golden minutes.’ I urge all youth to learn CPR and become first responders. You could save an entire family from grief.”

The workshop is part of an ongoing mission to empower the community with practical knowledge and serve humanity at large.
