Former Top Cop and Global Business Leader Join Praja Shanti Party, Dr. K.A. Paul Slams BJP Over Caste-Based Appointments

ASP Theophilus Monty and international economist Ch. Venkatesh welcomed into PSP; Dr. Paul calls for honest, inclusive leadership amid growing unemployment and national debt

New Delhi —In a major political development, Dr. K.A. Paul, President of the Praja Shanti Party (PSP) and Global Peace Ambassador, officially welcomed retired Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Theophilus Monty and internationally renowned businessman Ch. Venkatesh into the party during a press conference held at Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.

Theophilus Monty, who tendered his resignation after meeting the Director General of Andhra Pradesh Police a day earlier, cited PSP’s inclusive values and commitment to public service as his motivation to join politics. Meanwhile, Ch. Venkatesh, an economic advisor to multiple global governments, is expected to play a key role in shaping PSP’s economic strategy.

Dr. Paul took the occasion to sharply criticize the BJP’s recent appointments in Andhra Pradesh, questioning the allocation of key positions to upper-caste leaders without internal party elections. He called it a betrayal of the party’s stated support for backward classes. He also pointed out the lack of Muslim and Christian representation among the BJP’s 240+ Members of Parliament, challenging its claims of inclusiveness.

Highlighting the shifting political dynamics in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Paul claimed that several disillusioned leaders from parties like BJP, Congress, Jana Sena, and BRS are now in talks with Praja Shanti Party.

He also criticized the current government’s economic policies, blaming them for the rising national debt and widespread unemployment. Dr. Paul said the PSP will soon launch a decentralized industrial development and employment-focused agenda aimed at inclusive growth.

Dr. Paul further stated that over 120 prominent leaders from South India have already joined the party. These include folk singer Gaddaranna, former chief secretaries Dunmaya and D. Rosaiah, as well as former BJP MP and Karnataka DGP H.T. Sangliana.

Speaking at the event, Theophilus Monty said,

“I’m not here today as a former officer, but as a patriot. With over 60% of our population being youth, unemployment still plagues every corner of the country. India urgently needs honest and unbiased leadership, and I believe Dr. Paul and PSP are the only true alternative.”

Ch. Venkatesh added,

“India is facing a deepening employment crisis and growing economic inequality. I’ve come not for politics, but to contribute to policy-making and nation-building. We need parties that allow professionals to lead and work toward inclusive development.”

Dr. Paul reiterated that Praja Shanti Party is committed to uplifting all communities—especially backward classes, Dalits, minorities, and women—by giving them leadership roles. He emphasized that the party welcomes professionals and retired officials, focusing not on caste or personal ambition, but on public welfare and unity.

With plans to contest multiple seats in the upcoming general elections, the Praja Shanti Party is positioning itself as a credible alternative to both national and regional parties that, according to Dr. Paul, have failed the public.
