EuroSchool HSR Receives Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Excellence in Humanitarian Services
EuroSchool HSR has been honoured with the Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Excellence in Humanitarian Services for its efforts to promote holistic education and encourage students to participate in community-focused initiatives.
The recognition acknowledges the school's collaboration with the Indian Development Foundation (IDF), through which students have participated in initiatives focused on education, dignity, empathy and social responsibility.
The initiatives have provided students with opportunities to engage directly with social challenges and contribute to communities in need.
School Community Raises Over ₹4 Lakh
During the 2025–26 academic year, students, parents and educators at EuroSchool HSR collectively raised more than ₹4 lakh through three initiatives — Aashayein, Project Dignity and Cover of Compassion.
The initiatives focused on areas including education, menstrual health and elderly care.
Under the Aashayein initiative, students visited YAS National High School in Subramanyapura and distributed 210 educational kits to students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Each kit included items such as school bags, notebooks, stationery, geometry boxes and water bottles.
Project Dignity Supports Menstrual Health
Through Project Dignity, EuroSchool HSR students helped distribute 115 menstrual hygiene kits to adolescent girls from economically weaker sections.
The initiative included a total of 4,600 sanitary pads and was aimed at promoting menstrual health awareness and dignity among beneficiaries.
The school's third initiative, Cover of Compassion, focuses on supporting senior citizens living in old-age homes through the distribution of blankets. The initiative is scheduled to take place in September 2026.
Principal Kavitha Neelayath Also Recognised
Alongside the school's award, Kavitha Neelayath, Principal of EuroSchool HSR, was also honoured by the Indian Development Foundation for her leadership in promoting community service and social responsibility within the school community.
The recognition highlights the school's approach to education that extends beyond academic performance, with a focus on developing students' awareness of social issues and encouraging them to contribute to their communities.
Focus on Values-Based Education
EuroSchool HSR said its community initiatives are intended to combine classroom learning with real-world experiences and help students develop values such as empathy, responsibility and civic engagement.
Speaking about the recognition, Kavitha Neelayath, Principal, EuroSchool HSR, said the school believes education should help students excel academically while also developing them into compassionate and responsible members of society.
She said the collaboration with the Indian Development Foundation has provided students with opportunities to participate in initiatives that create social impact while strengthening values of empathy, dignity and service.
The school said it plans to continue promoting values-based education and encouraging students to take an active role in initiatives aimed at creating positive social change.
