Spice Money Expands UPI Cash Withdrawal Service to 16 Lakh Adhikari Outlets
Spice Money, a subsidiary of Digispice Technologies, has launched its UPI Cash Withdrawal Service across its Business Correspondent (BC) network, enabling customers in rural and semi-urban India to withdraw cash from neighbourhood Spice Money Adhikari outlets using any UPI-enabled application.
Under the new service, more than 16 lakh Spice Money Adhikari outlets will function as UPI-enabled cash withdrawal points, effectively providing customers with access to cardless cash services closer to their homes.
The service adds another option for customers alongside existing channels such as Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) and micro-ATMs.
UPI Cash Withdrawal From Local Stores
The service allows customers to make a UPI payment using major UPI applications, including PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm and BHIM, and receive cash from participating Spice Money Adhikari outlets.
According to Spice Money, the service is interoperable across banks and UPI applications. Customers can withdraw up to ₹5,000 per transaction, subject to a maximum daily withdrawal limit of ₹10,000.
The initiative is aimed at improving access to cash in rural and semi-urban areas where traditional banking infrastructure and ATM availability may be limited.
Instead of travelling to a bank branch or ATM, customers can access cash through a participating local retailer in their neighbourhood.
Adhikaris to Earn Additional Commission
The launch also provides an additional revenue opportunity for Spice Money's network of 16 lakh Adhikaris.
Adhikaris will earn a commission on each UPI cash withdrawal transaction, strengthening their role as last-mile financial service providers while providing an additional source of income for their businesses.
The company said the model is designed to connect greater financial accessibility for customers with additional earning opportunities for rural entrepreneurs.
Spice Money Launches ‘Cash Se Cash’ Campaign
Alongside the service launch, Spice Money has introduced an integrated performance marketing campaign titled “Cash Se Cash – Spice Money UPI Cash Point.”
The campaign promotes local Spice Money Adhikari shops as nearby UPI cash withdrawal points and aims to increase awareness of the service among customers.
The campaign is supported by digital films including Basanti Talkies, Shanti Talkies and Rocky Talkies, which showcase how everyday neighbourhood stores can provide convenient access to cash through UPI.
Focus on Last-Mile Financial Access
The UPI Cash Withdrawal Service is available through the Spice Money application and is designed to work with major UPI applications.
The company said the initiative is part of its broader effort to strengthen digital financial infrastructure in rural India and make financial services more accessible while supporting the growth of local micro-entrepreneurs.
Dilip Modi, Founder and CEO of Spice Money, said the company is using the UPI ecosystem to extend cash access to communities where traditional banking infrastructure remains limited.
He said converting Adhikari outlets into UPI-enabled cash withdrawal points could help bridge the last-mile banking gap while creating an additional revenue stream for local entrepreneurs.
With the expansion, Spice Money is positioning its extensive neighbourhood network as an additional layer of India's financial access infrastructure, combining digital UPI payments with the continued demand for physical cash in rural and semi-urban markets.
