Muthoot MCred Reports 233% Rise in Q1 FY27 Profit, AUM Grows 58.53% to ₹7,098 Crore
Muthoot MCred Limited, formerly known as Muthoottu Mini Financiers Limited, reported strong financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, with Profit After Tax (PAT) rising 232.73% year-on-year to ₹100.29 crore.
The company's Assets Under Management (AUM) increased 58.53% year-on-year to ₹7,098.38 crore, while total income stood at ₹399.64 crore, representing a 76.38% year-on-year increase.
Asset Quality Remains Strong
Muthoot MCred maintained its focus on asset quality during the first quarter of FY27.
As of June 30, 2026, the company's Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) stood at 0.59%, while Net NPA (NNPA) was at 0.24%.
The company's Return on Assets (ROA) also improved significantly to 5.17% in Q1 FY27, compared with 2.84% as of March 31, 2026.
The company attributed the improvement to stronger profitability and better asset utilisation during the quarter.
Branch Network Expands to 994 Locations
Muthoot MCred continued to expand its physical presence during the quarter, with its branch network increasing 3.76% year-on-year.
The number of branches rose from 958 in Q1 FY26 to 994 in Q1 FY27, strengthening the company's reach across its key markets.
The company said it plans to further expand its network across different regions, with a focus on entering growth markets, reaching new customer segments and improving access to its financial services.
Alongside expanding its branch footprint, Muthoot MCred is also focusing on improving business growth and productivity at its existing branches.
Management Highlights Growth and Operational Performance
Mathew Muthoottu, Managing Director, Muthoot MCred Limited, said the company had started FY27 with positive momentum across profitability, AUM and its operating network.
He attributed the performance to the company's business model, portfolio management and customer relationships, adding that the company would remain focused on sustainable growth, responsible lending and strengthening its institutional capabilities.
P. E. Mathai, Chief Executive Officer, Muthoot MCred Limited, said the Q1 performance reflected the company's focus on operational efficiency and asset quality.
He added that the company is seeing healthy momentum in its secured lending portfolio, supported by its expanding branch network and technology-led processes.

With AUM crossing ₹7,000 crore and the branch network nearing 1,000 locations, Muthoot MCred is continuing to expand its presence while focusing on asset quality and risk management.
The company said its growth strategy will focus on improving customer experience, maintaining prudent lending practices and building a scalable financial services business.
