Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, organised a nationwide cleanliness drive as part of the Government of India’s “Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026” campaign.

The initiative was undertaken in line with the campaign spearheaded by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, with Bank of Baroda employees across its offices and branches participating in cleanliness and hygiene activities.

The initiative formed part of the fortnight-long Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 programme being observed from September 17 to October 2, 2026.

Cleanliness and Hygiene Awareness Activities

As part of the campaign, Bank of Baroda conducted a range of cleanliness and hygiene awareness activities across its corporate, zonal and regional offices as well as branches across the country.

The activities focused on promoting responsible waste management, environmental awareness and public participation in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.

Employees actively participated in the cleanliness drive, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in creating sustainable and hygienic communities.

Bank Reaffirms Commitment to Environmental Responsibility

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Vinayak Mudaliar, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said that Swachhata Hi Seva is an important nationwide initiative that encourages people to come together for a common community objective.

“Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 is a powerful nationwide initiative of the Government of India that brings people together to contribute towards a community goal. Through this drive, Bank of Baroda remains committed to fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility,” Mudaliar said.

He added that with active participation across the bank’s offices and branches, Bank of Baroda aims to encourage community action and contribute towards building a cleaner and greener future for the communities it serves.

Focus on Social Responsibility and Sustainability

The nationwide campaign reflects Bank of Baroda’s continued focus on social responsibility, environmental sustainability and national development.

Through employee participation and awareness initiatives, the bank aims to encourage responsible waste management practices and greater community involvement in maintaining clean public and workplace environments.

The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign also provides an opportunity for organisations and citizens to contribute collectively towards the broader objective of creating cleaner, healthier and more sustainable communities across the country.
