Dr. K.A. Paul Offers Condolences to Families of AI-171 Crash Victims, Calls for Thorough Probe into Possible Terrorist Attack

Air India Flight AI-171 Crash May Not Be a Mere Accident, Says Dr. K.A. Paul; Demands Deep Investigation into Terror Angle

Following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171, Dr. K.A. Paul, founder of the Global Peace Initiative, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the 242 victims and has urged authorities to consider the possibility of a terrorist attack, calling for a comprehensive investigation.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, plummeting into a residential area in Meghaninagar. All on board perished, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese, 1 Canadian passenger, and the entire crew.

Dr. Paul emphasized the severity of the incident, stating that the scale of devastation necessitates a swift and thorough inquiry. Drawing on his four decades of global travel and aviation experience, he expressed concern over potential security lapses and urged investigators to explore all angles—ranging from baggage tampering to remote-controlled explosive devices.

“It would be irresponsible to dismiss this as a mere technical failure. The loss of so many lives is not just a national tragedy but a global concern. This incident deserves a fair investigation at political, legal, and technical levels,” Dr. Paul said.

He also warned that failure to act decisively could tarnish India’s aviation credibility and damage its international image and tourism industry. A transparent and unbiased investigation, he added, would not only pave the way for justice but also help restore global confidence.

Calling for solidarity across communities, Dr. Paul stressed that such tragedies should not become tools for division, but rather serve as a reminder of the need to unite for peace, justice, and security.
