IIM Rohtak Celebrates 11th International Yoga Day with Enthusiasm and Unity

Inaugural Address by Prime Minister Modi Broadcast Live

On June 21, 2025, the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak marked the 11th International Yoga Day with vibrant participation from students, faculty, and staff. The celebrations kicked off with a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address, in which he underscored the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” He lauded the commitment of over 20 million participants worldwide and urged everyone to view yoga as a “pause button” in their hectic lives, promoting a shift from “me” to “we.”

Director Emphasizes Yoga’s Role in Modern Life
Professor Dheeraj Sharma, Director of IIM Rohtak, spoke next, highlighting the necessity of yoga for maintaining balance amid today’s fast-paced routines. He remarked that the United Nations’ recognition of Yoga Day upon India’s proposal is a testament to the global acceptance of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Professor Sharma described yoga as a powerful, therapeutic practice rooted in Indian tradition that fosters unity and well-being.

Collective Yoga Session Fosters Discipline and Team Spirit
Following the speeches, participants engaged in a group yoga session featuring traditional asanas and pranayama exercises. The session aimed to cultivate discipline, concentration, and collaboration among attendees. Students, faculty, and staff joined in with enthusiasm, embracing the physical and mental benefits of each posture and breathing technique.

Vote of Thanks and Refreshments Conclude the Event
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Professor Sharma, who expressed his gratitude to all participants and organizers.
