Muthoot Finance Announces ₹25 Lakh Relief for 5,000 Flood-Affected Families in Kerala

Muthoot Finance has announced emergency relief assistance of ₹25 lakh for around 5,000 families affected by heavy rains and flooding in Kerala’s Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts.

The assistance is being provided as part of the company’s CSR initiative and will focus on essential groceries and hygiene supplies for families affected by the floods.

500 Relief Kits Distributed in Kottayam

As part of the first phase of the relief initiative, 500 emergency relief kits have been distributed across severely affected areas of Kottayam district.

The distribution has covered Kumarakom, Illikkal, Chengalam, Puthuppally and Changanassery.

Muthoot Finance plans to distribute another 4,500 relief kits across affected areas of Pathanamthitta district, including Aranmula, Kozhencherry, Thiruvalla, Ranni and Konni.

Relief Kits Include Essential Supplies

The relief kits contain emergency groceries and essential hygiene supplies and are being provided to families staying in relief camps and temporary shelters, as well as those returning to their homes.

The distribution is being carried out in collaboration with district administrations and local self-governing bodies to reach families in affected areas.

The initiative is intended to provide immediate assistance to families dealing with the impact of flooding as they begin returning to normal life.

Muthoot Group Extends Relief Support

George M George, Deputy Managing Director, Muthoot Group, said the floods had caused significant hardship for families in affected parts of Kerala and that supporting communities during such situations was a collective responsibility.

He said the relief initiative is aimed at providing immediate assistance to families as they begin rebuilding their lives and returning to normalcy.

The Muthoot Group also said it is extending support to flood-affected communities in Assam as part of its wider relief efforts.

The group said it remains committed to supporting communities during natural calamities and contributing to relief and rehabilitation initiatives.
